That Four Letter Word
Love, it’s a four letter word and this word has been misused, misrepresented and misunderstand down through the years. Its meaning has been changed to mean what ever the person using it at that time wants it to means; love has been stepped on, changed, set aside, abused and even used for personal gain. Webster has explained their meaning of the word love according to the world standard; but I want to define the word love according to God standard.
1 John 4:8 states, “He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love,” also Pro.10:12 states, “Hatred stirreth up strifes: but love covereth all sins,” and in Jn. 15:13, “Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.” And we must not forget the greatest scripture of love Jn. 3:16, “For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life,” so God love never changes, never takes advantage or uses anyone. It is freely given to all that will receive, just as God is, so is his love; it’s the same yesterday, today and forever; God is love and love is of God. The scripture ask how can you love God whom you have never seen and hate your fellowman whom you see everyday.
This four letter word has been used through the bible, both in the Old Testament and the New Testament, and it was out of love that God had compassion on man for his sin and sent forth his Son. Because of love God created man in his own image and blew the breath of life, which is God spirit, into man and man became a living being. God love will take the pain away, it will remove all sorrow and grief, and it will mend broken hearts, bring joy in times of sorrow, and will be our hope for tomorrow. His love is unconditional, it’s real and everlasting and it will have you praying for those that talks about you lie on you and misuses you. Godly love is a bond that binds our hearts together in brotherly love. I pray for you, you pray for me we are a part of God’s body and may he watch between you and me forever.
